ABBREVIATIONS


                             It is the trend to say everything in short form. There is nothing wrong in using short forms. It is easy for us to use short forms rather than telling them fully. But, we must ensure that the short form that we use would convey the full meaning. I remember a famous movie dialogue of Dr. Padmashree Kamal Hassan, He used to say a name as maggi, which he used to say as a short form of Maragadavalli and the medium form of which is "Mythili". It was very funny to hear it as both were the names of different persons.

                            In many cases, there will be same abbreviation which might denote two or more different things. For instance, if we take PM, it might denote Prime Minister as well as Prime Meridian. AM might denote Anti Meridian as well as Amplitude Modulation. We have acronyms which are similar to abbreviations. Acronyms majorly take the first letter of each word that has to be shortened but abbreviations need not necessarily take the first letter of the word specified. The term called (e.g) which denotes example as well as (i.e) that denotes that is are some famous examples of abbreviations.

                         Not only the abbreviations used in olden days of English. We got new set of abbreviations which was introduced by Facebook. Those old set of abbreviations would be taught to children by parents. But, we the next generation have come up with abbreviations like (gtg) which denotes got to go and (brb) means be right back and ROFL(roll on the floor and laugh. many more similar abbreviations are invented due to advancement of Facebook. Abbreviations are good but we must ensure that it should be utilized in such a way that listener must be able to understand the usage of it in correct manner.

OVER CAUTIOUS

              One Kind of behavior that should not be possessed by all is over-cautious. It is good to be cautious, but over cautiousness limits the expansion of ones freedom. There would be a lot of restrictions that will be levied on the person when they feel him to be over-cautious. Being overcautious might result in minimizing the error, but there is never a assurance that the error will never happen at all. Definitely, the person needs to get some leverage in doing their works.
