METRO - A TOURIST SPOT

                          We must be proud for getting metro train as transport facility. Many cities were already equipped with these metro train facilities in India and Chennai being the latest entrant among the few cities that have metro facilities, the work under few routes are still under progress but most of the parts of the city is under construction. This was constructed majorly to reduce the time taken to reach between two destination. But, the number of regular users of these metro trains are very less in number. This is majorly due to the higher prices of the ticket.

                         As I am travelling regularly in Metro for the past one month, I am able to conclude this statement. The capacity of train is more and not even the seats are being filled. But, what I see most of the time that I travel is the tourist spot metro has created. I often see small kids coming to train to see this a tourist spot. Lot of them taking selfies and posting them on Facebook. Few of them took live videos and telecasted them directly on Facebook. It has been a family tourist spot on certain occasion also. But, what can people do, we cannot blame them.

                        Most of the families are earning very less income and it is not affordable for them to invest more on their travel expense. Time is important but money becomes more important than the time. As money can even buy their time. The metro train is a people benefit scheme brought for the welfare of people, but keeping the rates so high is trouble caused to the people. The main aim of undertaking such project might fail ultimately due to this pricing system. It is unfair to raise prices so much. The reason stated by them to keep these high fares are not at all acceptable.

                       The reason stated by them, was improper maintenance of the existing metro station if the prices are kept low. The people from local areas and low lying areas might travel through this train and they have a fear of spoiling the rail system, if these people are allowed to travel.This thinking is entirely wrong. Inspite of having tight checking, They are claiming this as a reason. It is necessarily those people might spoil the train, anyone can spoil. Unless and until the fares are reduced the metro train will remain as a tourist spot and not regular usage of transport.
