Train Travel is the most comfortable and cheapest way of transportation, when compared to others. But, the problem with train travel is that, it is not available for all the routes. And the stopping, makes you to take another local bus or taxi to reach your destination. But, it is the travel in which we get to see different people at different times and different experiences. This experience mostly happens on the day trains, were we get to travel in the seater. I did not have much experience in travelling these day trains and mostly I used to travel in night trains, were we get to sleep and get down at our destination in the next morning.
I am mainly going to deal with the train in which I traveled the most number of times. That is from Chennai to Mysore. There are two possible ways of travelling. The first one is Kaveri Express which starts at Friday night and reaches on Saturday morning to Chennai and in the return, I would start on Sunday Night and reach Mysore on Monday morning. Almost 20 hours used to be spent on train travel. But, against all the odds this travel is mainly to spend time in home. On Many occasions I have failed to book tickets in earlier parts and tried it on tatkal. On most of the occasions it was a failure.
Don't know why, the train is mostly given for Bangalore during the return from Chennai, i think the train becomes empty as soon as it crosses Bangalore and after that it becomes a passenger train. The speed of the train decreases, then there won't be any compartment known as Reservation, anyone might come anywhere and so on. It is always necessary to ensure that our things are held in a safe manner. Many of my friends have lost their belongings. In most of the routes of train, there is a proper security and safety. But, it has failed miserably in this route and in this particular train, i am not blaming anyone.
As a friend of victim, I wanted to tell that this might happen to anyone. They won't differentiate people and steal their belongings. It may be anyone who might lose their belonging. So, it is necessary to ensure that the train travel is far more better and safe. One more thing lagging about the trains is the time lag, Yes, it is always not possible to follow proper timings, but train travel is having the tendency of following a proper timing very rarely, which should not be the case. These are some of the concerns which I would like share about the experiences, i had in train travel.
