Everyone wants to perform their role in a perfect manner. No one can expect us to perform other's role. There is a definite variation of a person from another person's role. This holds good for real life. Now, the heading is about the mono-acting in reel life. A single person performing the roles of more than one person. I have seen many mono-acting performances. One of the memories, that I would like to share was the role of Kattabomman and Jackson Durai performed by one of the schoolmates. Initially, I did not understand what she was doing. The body language of two different personalities very entirely different.
For few seconds, the body language was different from other and the dialogue delivery was also changed. The Dialogue of Kattabomman was very much strong and fully in a proper second. The alternate body language was that of jackson Durai, though he knows Tamil, his body language would be different and his Tamil would be tanglish( mixture of Tamil and English). The tone that foreigners get while they try to pronounce a Tamil world. Initially, I was puzzled why is a same person performing two roles at a same time. Then, one of my friends explained me this is an art form and known as mono-acting.
Even if we perform the role of two similar kind of people, there would be subtle variations. These subtle variations play a vital role in determining the difference in the characters. Imitating others itself is an art, Imitating mother than one people at the same time is even more greatful. After telecasting the TV shows for comedy, I was still more puzzled, there are certain artists who follow the exact body language of artists with their dialogue delivery style and same voice. At the same time, they change into many personalities. remembering the body language, dialogue and voice modulation needs definite practice and they would have never ever given up while practising. I would dedicate this posts to all the artists those who are very much talented in monoacting
